Wycombe Sinfonia
Wycombe Sinfonia is an orchestra of classical proportions consisting of local players of a very good standard. It aims to provide the opportunity for ensemble playing for the members and to organise public performances of a high standard several times a year. The programmes vary, ranging from family concerts which are particularly suitable for children, through themed concerts, such as the Spanish Serenade (June 04), to the more traditional symphony concerts which generally include a concerto. Soloists are often international artists, but there are also opportunities for local talented players to perform with the orchestra. The orchestra also plays items by local composers and, from time to time, commissions works.
The members of Wycombe Sinfonia take this opportunity to thank:
- The John Hampden Grammar School for providing the orchestra’s regular rehearsal facilities
- Crendon House Estate Agents for helping with publicity
- Wycombe Tourist Information Centre for publicity and for selling tickets
- The Swan Box Office for making tickets available by telephone and credit card
- Wycombe District Council and many shops, publications and radio stations for providing publicity
- And, of course, you, our audience, for supporting our concerts
