The family concert often requires a narrator. We have been pleased to welcome a variety of talented individuals including some with TV reputations such as Colin Baker (who is also our President), Johnny Morris, Bill Oddie, Ian McCaskill, Michael Fish and others.
The orchestra has performed the majority of concertos in the repertoire, such as the Beethoven Violin Concerto, Grieg Piano Concerto, Mozart Horn Concertos, and the Weber Clarinet Concertos. We have also performed less well known works such as the Bassoon Concerto by Koscheluch, Rodrigo's Concerto for Four Guitars and Kabalevski's Violin Concerto.
Symphonies include those by Beethoven, Dvorak, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Saint Saens, Schubert and Shostakovich.
Other works include Ravel Bolero, Prokofiev Peter and the Wolf, Walton Four Dances from Facade, Saint Saens Carnival of the Animals, Vaughan Williams Lark Ascending etc.
